Material Donation

Items and materials accepted into the Louisiana Prison Museum collection undergo a deliberate and meticulous review by our museum staff and Accessions Committee. Before any artifact is accepted into our collection, we must ensure we can provide proper care for the artifact and it meets the objectives and purpose of our institution.

The type of items and materials we generally accept are original manuscripts, photographs, objects, clothing, papers, records, notes, and books. In some instances when originals are unavailable, we will accept copies of original materials.

The Louisiana Prison Museum is eager to discuss gifts of items and materials with prospective donors.
